Research Interest
Pediatrics (Immunology, Allergy, Rheumatology, Hematology, Gastroenterology)
Dr. Dimitri Poddighe graduated in 2003 from the medical school of the University of Pavia (Italy) cum laude; here, he also completed the residency/clinical fellowship in Pediatrics, achieving his Specialization Degree cum laude in 2008. During the years of the School of medicine, he was also alumnus at the Collegio Ghislieri in Pavia.
From 2007 to 2009, Dr. Dimitri Poddighe was Research Fellow in Immunology at Children’s Hospital Boston – Harvard University in Boston (MA, USA).
Since 2010, Dr. Dimitri Poddighe served as an attending physician in the pediatric units of several hospitals in Lombardy (Italy), including the Fondazione IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo (Pavia), affiliated to the University of Pavia, where he has been lecturer/instructor at the Department of Pediatrics since 2015.
During his career, Dr. Dimitri Poddighe gained three 2nd level Master Degrees: I) Pediatric Hematology at the Univesity “La Sapienza” in Rome (2010-2011); II) Pediatric Immunology at the University of Pavia (2011-2012); III) Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University “La Sapienza” in Rome (2016-2017). Moreover, in 2015-2016 he also completed a clinical training course in the Pediatric Rheumatology Department at the Istituto G. Pini in Milano.
Dr. Dimitri Poddighe joined the School of Medicine at Nazarbayev University in 2018, as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics.
As concern research activity, during his research fellowship in the US, Dr. Dimitri Poddighe worked in the laboratories of the Department of Immunology at Children’s Hospital Boston, where he was involved in basic research projects on respiratory and food allergy by using murine models. In Italy, in addition to his clinical activity at the Department of Pediatrics, Dr. Dimitri Poddighe carried on some clinical studies, given his prominent interest in pediatric immunology, rheumatology and allergy.
