Innovative Learning

Gradescope is a tool designed for helping to grade paper-based, digital, and code assignments more quickly, and for managing handwritten responses. It helps to reduce the pain and time associated with grading exams, homework, and other assignments. Gradescope is widely used for delivering assessments remotely and enables instructors and graders to provide better and more timely feedback, resulting in improved learning outcomes.

LMS integration: Moodle instructor guide and student guide

Gradescope benefits:

  • It allows consistent grading using rubrics for point assignments and supports problem sets and projects as well as worksheets, quizzes, exams, and papers.
  • It helps instructors grade problem sets and other assignments more quickly and consistently while still allowing for detailed feedback.
  • It helps standardize grading across sections and graders, particularly in large classes.
  • It’s useful for handwritten materials, providing an interface for students to turn in scans of their paper assignments, which can then be structured within the program to link responses to particular questions.
